Wizard Universe Revamp...gone?

Anyone notice the new Wizard Universe last week?

Anyone notice how it's not there anymore?

Weird.

Also, I was never a huge fan of the Legion of Super-heroes but because of JLA/JSA, my nerd obsession with comics needs more input.

Double the Ellis

I'm loving Ellis' work more and more ever since Nextwave, and these week I'm graced with a double dose of Newuniversal and Thunderbolts, both which are great reads.

Ghost Rider has been getting better, but only because of supporting characters. Johnny Blaze/GR still aren't being developed into characters that can carry a series.

We also get a double-shot of Judd Winick this week with Trials of Shazam (alright) and Green Arrow. GA is interesting because they're are a lot of questions to be answered with only 2 issues left! It'll be very sad when GA leaves the shelves but will it tie into the new screenplay that's out? Will issue 75 put Ollie in jail? We'll see.

All Star Superman and 52 are still amazing, nothing more to say about those books. As for Punisher: War Journal...I'm not sold. Iron Fist is amazing but this book just isn't the Frank Castle I love. I state again, Garth Ennis is Frank Castle...period.

Boring Day in Comics

Me, I was kind of bored this week when it came to comics. I was totally excited about 52, which wasn't "amazing". Daredevil is always a nice buy, but we got McDuffie substituting on Action Comics, Silent War which didn't really have an shockers, and Batman which wasn't anything as crazy as the previous issues, but hopefully will build to something. Grant Morrison is crazy.

Spoilers anyone?

I can't believe how bad they dealt with Captain America's death. What the hell CNN, just going up and posting big news like that before the book is out. Other news outlets of the blog variety will post in huge letters SPOILER or even use text that needs to be highlighted. Good thing I haven't been reading Captain America or else I'd be pissed.

Also what gives Joe Q. Millar didn't want unnecessary death. Was this really needed?

Green Arrow goes bye bye

It seems one of my favorite books for a long time, Green Arrow, is ending at issue #75.

Not everyone loves Winick's work on the book, but I've always enjoyed it and I'll miss the Emerald Archer.

It's said that big things will be happening with Ollie, including him and Dinah tying the knot!

Wish the announced this at the NYCC which I was at, because I could've cried in public.

Long time becomes longer

Hey everyone, For the next month I'll be incredibly busy and probably won't post anything for a bit. Here are some quick hits!

- I knew it was Booster. So did everyone else.
- Anyone who thought Animal Man was dead and gone, is a fool.
- Ghost Rider is going down the drain. My favorite character being abused...again.
- Comics that I'm not getting anymore: Nightwing, Outsiders, and probably Flash depending how the next ark goes.
- Astonishing X-men is amazing
- JSA is the best team book out. Much better than JLA.
- Nextwave is the funniest book ever. Buy 6 copies now!

Also we got a new site coming out soon, it should be great.

JLA, White Tiger, X-factor and more

So I'm back to weekly reviews after finishing my Master's degree. Here we go.

JLA #4 - I'm getting more excited about the JLA. It's too bad I had to wait four months to do so. Green Lantern, Arsenal (possibly Red Arrow soon?), and Black Lightning are great characters and really drive the series. Red Tornado is a bit of a pansy right now, but I'll give him time. As for the Big 3, get off your ass and do something. JSA went through there photos in 1 issue. I takes them 3. The shocking ending though, not to my liking.

White Tiger #2 - If your looking for a classic butt-kicking comic, you've found it. It's refreshing to see something so normal in the world of shock value and death today. I like it, I suggest checking it out.

X-factor #14 - This book continues to be great. You really got a feeling for all the characters last issue with Doc Samson, and now I'm just so invested that I couldn't imagine dropping this book.

Ghost Rider #6 - Legend Richard Corben takes over as artist for two issue. It's really bizarre to say the least. If you're a fan of his Heavy Metal stuff, pick it up. If your a GR fan like myself, it doesn't matter who picks it is, I gotta own it. I'm still not excited about the story ark. I'm waiting for the promised "explanation" of what's happened. Also, when is that lost issue coming out?

Green Arrow #69 - I'm going to give away the pseudo-shocking ending. Brick is going to team up with the Red Hood. G.A. and Bats go head to head against there more recent villains. If your a fan of the Red Hood or Green Arrow, pick it up. Otherwise, don't bother.

World's Greatest Superhero Team

After months of waiting and waiting, and buying ALL the back issues, Justice Society of America has FINALLY been released, and yes, it is that good. Unlike JLA, JSA has a full roster and line-up after 1 issue. The issue, just like Johns entire JSA run, is full of mystery, action, and world altering events. Maybe he'll take the time to kill of more crappy DC characters that no one like (Dagger Fate anyone?). I love the fact that DC is hinting more and more towards Kingdom Come, I'm so intrigued.
